If you fall ill

(Om man blir sjuk)

You are required to tell your employer if you get sick and must stay home from work. Anytime you are sick and need to stay home for more than seven days, you must submit a doctor’s certificate. In some cases, your employer can demand to see a certificate starting on the first day you were sick. If you want to know whether you are entitled to sickness allowance, ask your employer or the Social Insurance Administration.

Sickness benefits are for people between the ages of 30 and 64 who will probably be unable to work full time again as the result of disease, injury or disability.
