The Centre for Civic Orientation is a joint office for twentyseven municipalities in the County of Stockholm and for Håbo in the County of Uppsala. We coordinate and develop courses about the Swedish society for people who have newly arrived in these municipal districts.
The following municipalities participate in the collaboration: Botkyrka, Danderyd, Ekerö, Haninge, Huddinge, Håbo, Järfälla, Lidingö, Nacka, Norrtälje, Nykvarn, Nynäshamn, Salem, Sigtuna, Sollentuna, Solna, Stockholm, Sundbyberg, Södertälje, Tyresö, Täby, Upplands-Bro, Upplands Väsby, Vallentuna, Vaxholm, Värmdö and Österåker.
The course is for those who have newly arrived in in Sweden and who are eager to learn more about the history, democracy and system of the Swedish society. This course will be given in the native language of the participants and is 100 hours long, between 4 and 9 weeks depending on if you take a full time och part time course.
In this course, the participants have an opportunity of reflecting in discussions, lectures and practical exercises on their own experiences and on how they can participate in the Swedish society. Read more about why you should participate in this course.
The course is led by a course leader with training and experience in pedagogics and social science and who speaks the native language of the participants.
