This part of the course will provide you with an understanding of how decisions are made in the Swedish parliament (riksdag) and your municipality (kommun), as well as how you can actively participate and contribute to society. You will also learn more about how you can play an active role in your municipality and the many associations here. The course will also include a discussion of freedom of speech and human rights.

Examples of questions that are addressed in this part of the course:

• How is Sweden governed?
• What can I do to become an active participant in the area where I live?
• How does one go about starting an association?
