Right of public access

(Allemansrätten)

In Sweden, everyone has the right to be in nature. This is called the right of public access (allemansrätten). The right of public access is used when taking a walk, canoeing or sitting on a stone and thinking. The right of public access gives us all the possibility to move freely in nature. But we also have to take responsibility for nature and animal life and show consideration to land owners and other visitors. So it is a matter of “not disturbing – not ruining.
