The last part of the civic orientation course in Stockholm County gives you a chance to talk about family, and relationships in Sweden. You will gain an understanding of what the law provides in areas such as marriage, parental roles, and school in Sweden. In Sweden, the rights of every person are protected by law. Children must be able to grow and develop and have a good childhood. Parents are expected to take an active role in their children’s school and development.

Examples of questions that are addressed in this part of the course:

• What does the law say about the family?
• What does gender equality mean in practice?
• How does the Swedish school system work?
